"Beloved Me Over again" is a hitting song by English singer John Newman. The song was released equally a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland where information technology was released on 30 June 2013 as the atomic number 82 single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA xiv.

It was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the Year at the 2014 BRIT Awards[1] and nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.

Background [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the vocal had something special near information technology in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something good here'. Only yous just never know how good it is, you know?".

Newman was likewise asked if it was hard to write the lyrics about beloved and break-upwards, he said, "No, it'south the merely place where I actually open upwards to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the anthology] and writing it, it's good. I similar to continue a hold of everything".[ii]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the vocal is written in the cardinal of Grand Dorian. The key signature is in D pocket-size. Both are modes of F major, of which either one can exist used as the tonic notation/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not present in the vocal.[iii]

Music video [edit]

2 music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, accept been released for "Dear Me Over again". One version[4] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the archetype dearest story of Romeo and Juliet.[v] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a cliffhanger as they get run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-upward unmarried "Cheating", which starts with a paper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a striking-and-run accident.

In popular culture [edit]

"Beloved Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,[8] giving it a cult status amongst FIFA fans, as well as the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's archive during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also appeared in the closing credits of the 2014 science fiction picture show, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Edgeless. The song was too featured on the American Television series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on 6 March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the get-go episode of season 4, "Ane-Two-Three Go", which aired 11 June 2014. "Love Me Again" is likewise a playable song in Just Dance 2015. The song was too used as the theme to the television show Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in February 2019 and concluded in May after one flavor.[ix] In August 2020 and May 2021 information technology was used in Boob tube and radio adverts for National Rail.

The French channel TF6 also used this song to shutdown its channel.
